Baseball: 2018 catcher Wyatt Villella commits to Merrimack


The Merrimack baseball program received a commitment from 2018 catcher Wyatt Willella last week.

Willella, 17, is currently a senior at Chaminade Madonna College Prep in Hollywood, Florida. In the summer, he plays for the Elite Squad. According to the recruiting website, Villella was also considering Holy Cross, Army, Wofford, Xavier Nova Southeastern and ACC.

According to Broward High School Baseball, Villella hit .250 last spring with an OPS of .637 in 40 at bats; the website has him with a .414 on-base percentage the last two spring seasons combined.
