Inning By Inning

  • Top 1st – Singles for freshmen Joey Porricelli (Monroe, Conn.) and senior Cam DiSarcina (Shirley, Mass.) put runners on the corners for the Warriors with one out, but junior Matt Nicholson (Rockland, Mass.) chopped a first-pitch breaking ball back to the mound for the inning-ending double play
  • Bottom 1st – Junior sinker-baller Anthony Lupi (Dover, N.H.) lived up to his billing, putting down the Ravens in order with three grounders
  • Top 2nd – The Warriors had another runner reach scoring position in junior Mike Hoalcraft (Fayetteville, N.Y.), but Ravens’ starter Cody McPartland got out of the jam unscathed
  • Bottom 3rd – DiSarcina made a swift play at first to end the third, snagging a line drive right at the bag and tagging the runner at first out for the double play
  • Bottom 4th – Lucas Luopa singled, advanced to third on an errant pickoff attempt and scored on a run-scoring hit from Adam Chase to give the Ravens their first run. After one more run scored and sophomore Cam Monagle (Cambridge, Mass.) relieving Lupi, a two-run bases-loaded single increased the Ravens’ lead to 4-0 before Monagle could end the frame
  • Bottom 5th & 6th – Franklin Pierce put two runs up on the board in each inning to double its advantage
  • Bottom 7th – Senior Nate Spielvogel (Brookline, Mass.) took over for Monagle with runners on the corners and one out, and did not concede a run by getting a pop-up and strikeout to end the seventh
  • Top 9th – Senior Chris Cimmino (Orange, Conn.) pinch hit to start the inning and smacked a single to center. The Ravens’ reliever Ben Collincini recovered to retire the next three batters to end the game
