Middle infielder Stephen Santarpia commits to Merrimack Baseball

The Merrimack baseball program received a verbal commitment from 2019 middle infielder Stephen Santarpia, who currently plays for New Rochelle High School in New Rochelle, New York.

New Rochelle head coach Pete Annunziata called Santarpia one of the team’s “most clutch players” in an interview last season. Prep Baseball Report evaluated Santarpia, a 5-foot-11 170 pound middle infielder. “Projects well at 2B at the next level, as arm improves, so will his versatility,” they wrote, also citing his line-drive contact at the plate.

Santarpia has been projected as a college prospect by Prep Baseball Report since early-2017.

Santarpia will play his senior season at New Rochelle this spring and arrive at Merrimack next fall.
