Bentley will open new arena on February 16 against Army
Bentley sent the following press release, announcing that their new arena will open on Feb. 15, and the first game will be Feb. 16 when the Falcons host Army:
The new Bentley Arena will officially open its doors on Thursday, February 15 to Bentley students, staff, and faculty. One night later, on February 16, the hockey team will play the first game in its new home, against Army West Point.
On Thursday the 15th, Bentley students, staff and faculty will be invited to an open house and to tour the new facility. The next night, the Falcons will officially drop the puck in the new arena for its first home game, where they will take on the Army West Point Black Knights.
Said Bentley University President Gloria Larson, “as we prepare to open this new building, I could not be more proud of the members of our community who worked so hard to make this vision into a reality. The new LEED-certified, environmentally-friendly arena will provide a state-of-the-art center for our Division 1 hockey team and a venue for concerts, career fairs, alumni events, prominent speakers and other events. This signature facility marks Bentley’s continued rise as a future-focused, nationally-recognized business university, showcasing our commitment to student life and the well-being of all of our stakeholders—students, athletes, faculty, staff, alumni and the Waltham community.”
“We have and will continue to invest in the important strategic initiatives of this university that raise academic quality and provide the vibrant, campus-based student experience that has become a hallmark of a Bentley education,” she continued.
The Falcons hockey team are in the middle of a six-game winning streak at the winter break, which is currently the third longest winning streak in the nation. They’ll return from the break to play Northeastern at Ryan Arena in Watertown on Friday, January 5. The team’s last games in Watertown will be the weekend of February 9-10 vs. Air Force.
