Report: Denver’s Jim Montgomery Will Be Named Dallas Stars Coach

RDS in Canada is reporting that Denver head coach Jim Montgomery will be named the next head coach of the Dallas Stars.

Francois Gagnon reported that Montgomery also met with senior management from the New York Rangers and was “studying contract offers,” indicating that he had offers from both teams and chose the Stars over the Rangers.

Montgomery led Denver to a national championship in 2017. He reportedly beat out former Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault and Montreal assistant Kirk Muller for the Stars job.

The Pioneers are scheduled to visit Merrimack this upcoming season.
