Loiseau Makes Debut for Massachusetts Pirates

Former Merrimack College linebacker Shawn Loiseau debuted for the Massachusetts Pirates of the National Arena League on Saturday night. The Pirates, who play their games at the DCU Center in Worcester, beat the Maine Mammoths, 51-24, in their inaugural game.

Last week, Loiseau told The Worcester Telegram that he was done with football until the opportunity came up to play in his hometown.

I told my wife if nothing else comes from the NFL or anything serious, then my football days are over,” Loiseau, 28, said. “Seeing this thing unwind and unfold has been really exciting. And the buzz around Worcester has been awesome.”

The Pirates play at home next on May 6. You can purchase tickets to Pirates home games at the DCU Center by clicking here.
