Former Merrimack College linebacker Shawn Loiseau, who has had stints with the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts, recently signed with the Nebraska Danger of the IFL.
Loiseau made his debut on May 28 against the Arizona Rattlers, making seven tackles and forcing a fumble. On June 3, this past Saturday, against the Cedar Rapids Titans, Loiseau made seven more tackles (6 unassisted) with two tackles for a loss in the backfield and a pass breakup.
The Danger have two more games remaining in the regular season, playing at Sioux Falls this Saturday and then hosting Wichita Falls on June 17. The Danger are 8-6, and currently in second place of the IFL’s Intense Conference, two games behind the Rattlers for first place.
At Merrimack, he finished his career with 382 tackles, including 377 over his final three seasons (the most in school history). In 2010 he broke the single-season Merrimack record for tackles (133) and was a two-time All-American, a two-time NE10 Defensive Player of the Year and a three-time NE10 All-Conference selection.
