Three Merrimack football players headed to National Bowl this weekend

Merrimack seniors Cody DemersHunter Sallila and Jesse Jones will all take part in the National Bowl, which takes place this Sunday in Dayonta Beach, Florida.

The National Bowl is a yearly All-Star game that features players from Division II, Division III and the NAIA. The game is played in conjunction with the FCS Bowl, which features draft-eligible players from FCS schools.

Demers led Merrimack in receiving this past season with 67 catches for 923 yards and eight touchdowns (leading Merrimack in every category). Demers finished his Merrimack career with 2,416 yards receiving on 204 catches and 18 touchdowns.

Jones finished this season with 58 tackles and three tackles for a loss. Jones ended his Merrimack career with 153 total tackles, 113 of which came over the last two seasons.

Sallila is a 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive lineman who appeared in 42 games over his four seasons as a Warrior after being plugged in as a starter as a freshman in 2015.
