Merrimack Men’s Hockey Tabbed Ninth in 2017 Hockey East Coaches Poll


BOSTON ā€” The Merrimack College men’s ice hockey team was picked to finish ninth in the 2017-18 Hockey East Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon at the conference’s annual Media Day at TD Garden.

On Sunday, the HEWBA picked the Warriors seventh in Hockey East.

Merrimack garnered 29 points in the rankings and was slotted in front of Maine and UMass. The Warriors finished seventh last season, marking the second year in a row the Warriors finished in that spot. Merrimack hosted a postseason series for the fourth time in the Hockey East era and the Warriors bring back five of their top-six scorers as well as 75 percent of its total offense from last winter, the highest percentage in Hockey East.
