2019 Small Forward Ziggy Reid Commits to Merrimack

Joe Gallo’s Merrimack men’s basketball program picked up its first commitment of the team’s Division I era on Friday, receiving a verbal from 2019 wing Ziggy Reid out of St. Paul’s School in Maryland.

Reid, who measures 6-foot-6, averaged 18 points per game last season as a junior with eight rebounds per game. He made his official visit to the Merrimack campus only recently, amidst the news that the Warriors were elevating to Division I.

According to reports which go back to 2017, Navy was one of a few schools recruiting Reid.

Reid suits up for Team Thrill as well as playing for St. Paul’s. Team Thrill is an elite program founded by current Denver Nuggets guard Will Barton. Reid broke out this past July at the Under Armour Challenge in Atlanta while playing for Team Thrill. In a game against West Coast Elite, Reid scored 20 points and also led his team in rebounds.
