’02-Born Forward Matthew MacDonald Commits to Merrimack


The Merrimack men’s hockey program received a commitment from 2002-born forward Matthew MacDonald late on Friday, capping off a day where the Warriors received three commitments in a matter of hours. Earlier in the day, Merrimack committed Christian Brune, a forward from Shattuck St. Mary’s, as well as Belmont Hill defenseman Michael Brown.

MacDonald, 16, skates for Boston Advantage in the T1EHL. This past season, the 6-foot-1 forward appeared in 33 total games (T1EHL and ECEL combined), finishing with 29 points (18 goals, 11 assists).

This summer, MacDonald began to break out at the Mass. Hockey Festival, as well as playing well at the USA Hockey Select 16 camp.
