Chase Gresock Commits to Merrimack

The Merrimack men’s hockey team received a commitment from ’98-born forward Chase Gresock on Monday.

Gresock, an Ohio native, is in his second season with the Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL, where he has two points (1 goal, 1 assist) in his first two games of the season. In 52 games last season as an 18-year-old, Gresock had 12 goals and four assists.

Prior to joining the Phantoms, the six-foot, 190-pounder played for the Ohio Blue Jackets, where former Merrimack forward Marty Laroche was at onetime the head coach of the U16 team. In 2015-16, Gresock had 32 points in 30 games (14 goals, 18 assists) and in 2014-15, as a member of the team’s U16 squad, Gresock had 27 goals and 19 assists in 32 games.

Gresock was also an accomplished baseball player in high school.
