Denver Highlights Merrimack’s 2018-19 Home Non-Conference Slate

The Merrimack men’s hockey program announced home non-conference opponents as part of the festivities at the 2018 Men’s Hockey Banquet on Saturday night at Lawler Arena.

Denver, a team Merrimack visited last season, will make its first trip to Lawler Arena in 2018-19. The Pioneers won the 2017 national championship in Chicago last year, and they’re coached by former Maine forward Jim Montgomery.

Other 2018-19 home non-conference opponents include Holy Cross and two games against Lake Superior State to open the season. The Warriors and Lakers have not met since the 1988 NCAA Division I Quarterfinals, a two-game series that was held at Lake State.

Merrimack also announced that the annual homecoming game will be Oct. 27 against UMass.

Bentley announced its schedule last week, and it was revealed that Merrimack will visit Bentley’s new arena at some point in 2018-19.
