Foget Signs with Allen Americans

Former Merrimack College forward Mathieu Foget signed a contract with the Allen Americans (ECHL) on Thursday.

Foget, 21, left Merrimack during the 2016-17 season at the semester break and signed with the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL.

Foget played in two games with the Americans last season, netting one goal, which was a game-winner in overtime against Idaho. The resident of Orleans, Ontario played his junior hockey with the Mississauga Steelheads and Ottawa 67’s. He had 38 points in 31 games last year with Mississauga.

Foget would have been entering his senior season at Merrimack had he opted to remain with the program.

After leaving the Warriors, Foget appeared in 100 total OHL games over two seasons, finishing with 94 points (34 goals, 60 assists). In parts of two seasons at Merrimack, Foget appeared in 47 games and had six goals and 10 assists.
