Merrimack recruit Matthieu Franche, a ’99-born defenseman, competed with Team CCHL Red in this week’s Eastern Canada Cup, an all-star prospect tournament with teams from Jr. A leagues in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes.

Mark Grady, an assistant coach for CCHL Red and the head coach of the Smith Falls Bears, where Franche is a defenseman, commented on the tournament and Franche on Tuesday. CCHL Red fell in the semifinal of the tournament.
