Kovacevic Begins Second Development Camp with Winnipeg Jets

Merrimack defenseman Johnathan Kovacevic will begin his second NHL Development Camp with the Winnipeg Jets this week. Kovacevic, who will be a junior this coming season, was selected in the third round by the Jets in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Kovacevic appeared in 34 games last year for the Warriors, totaling 17 points from the blue line (2 goals, 15 assists). In two seasons with the Warriors, the 6-foot-4 Ontario native has 36 points (5 goals, 31 assists) in 70 games.

Kovacevic and Michael Babcock (New York Islanders) are the first two Warriors announced for NHL development camps thus far. Babcock began camp with the Islanders on Monday.

Winnipeg’s camp will be held at the Bell MTS Iceplex, with practice sessions beginning on Tuesday.
