Merrimack will travel to Maine for a two-game series in February, according to the Maine hockey schedule, which was released earlier this week. The series is set for Feb. 2 and Feb. 3 at Alfond Arena in Orono.
Merrimack took three out of four points from the Black Bears this past season at Lawler Rink in a two-game set. Maine was a much different team at home than on the road, however. The Black Bears went 10-8 in 18 home games, and were winless (0-13-4) in 17 road games.
The Warriors last traveled to Maine in Feb. 2016, splitting a two-game series with the Black Bears. Merrimack is 4-6-1 in its last 11 games at Alfond Arena, dating back to 2011. Prior to that, Merrimack had not won at Maine since 1997.
