Merrimack Recruit Declan Carlile Drafted by Lincoln in USHL Draft

Merrimack men’s hockey recruit Declan Carlile was selected in the second round of Tuesday’s USHL Phase II Draft by the Lincoln Stars.

Carlile is a ’00-born player from Brighton, Michigan. He’s a teammate of fellow Merrimack recruit Zach Uens, and together, they have the Wellington Dukes (OJHL) headed to the RBC Cup this weekend.

The 6-foot-1 left-shot defenseman has 59 points (12 goals, 47 assists) in 85 games this season (including regular season and playoffs). Earlier this month, Carlile was ranked No. 176 among North American Skaters by NHL Central Scouting for next month’s NHL Draft.

Carlile was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Dudley-Hewitt Cup last weekend, as well as being named the tournament’s Top Defenseman.
