Michael Kesselring signs NLI with Merrimack College

New Hampton defenseman Michael Kesselring signed his National Letter of Intent with Merrimack College last week. Kesselring, a senior defenseman at the New Hampton School, is set to begin his prep season soon. This past summer, Kesselring had three points (2 goals, 1 assist) in five games at USA Hockey’s Select 17 camp.

Kesselring, a 6-foot-3 defenseman, committed to Merrimack last season as a junior. In 30 games last season he scored eight goals and added 20 assists. Both of Kesselring’s parents — Casey Kesselring (men’s hockey, ’98) and Shawndra Kesselring (women’s basketball, ’97) — are graduates of Merrimack and former student-athletes.

Earlier this fall, Kesselring was listed by NHL Central Scouting as a prospect for the upcoming 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Kesselring was a draft pick of the Des Moines Buccaneers in last year’s USHL Entry Draft.
