Recruit Zach Uens profiled by The Hockey News

on

Merrimack recruit Zach Uens, a 2001-born defenseman from Ontario, was recently profiled in The Hockey News in its “Prospects Need to Know” column by Ryan Kennedy. In the column, Kennedy was profiling players who could be prospects for Team Canada’s World Junior and World Junior A Challenge teams.

On Uens, he wrote, “An offensive defenseman who is very strong on the puck and loves to have it on his stick, Uens (“You-inns”) is a 2019 draft prospect in contention for a spot with Canada East’s WJAC team. The Merrimack College commit has missed time with a hand injury this season, but has still put up 10 points in 13 games from the blueline. NHL arrival: 2022-23″

Uens committed to Merrimack a little more than one year ago. He was drafted by the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL this past summer.
