Recruits: Alex Jefferies makes USPHL 16U All Star Team

Merrimack recruit Alex Jefferies was named an All Star in the USPHL 16U Division this week.

Jefferies, 16, is projected as a 2020 recruit. He currently leads the USPHL 16U Division with a whopping 41 points (27 goals, 14 assists) in just 19 games. Jefferies is the league’s leading scorer by eight points. The 2001-born forward is currently playing for the Islanders Hockey Club and he’s originally from Lunenburg, Mass. Jefferies committed to Merrimack in October.

This past summer, Jefferies took part in USA Hockey’s Select 15 Festival, scoring one goal in three games.

The USPHL 16U All Star Game will take place on Monday (Jan. 15) at Merrimack’s Lawler Arena, with a puck drop scheduled for 3:55 p.m.
