Salisbury’s Matt Holmes Commits to Merrimack Men’s Hockey

’99-born Salisbury forward Matt Holmes announced his commitment to Merrimack College on Monday through his Twitter account.

Holmes appeared in 26 games for Salisbury this season, where he was a teammate of fellow Merrimack recruit Kevin Wall, and finished with 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists).

A big forward out of Rye, N.Y. — Holmes is listed at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds — he also played for the Mid-Fairfield Rangers U18 team in the fall, posting 18 points (7 goals, 10 assists) in 27 games. Last season for Salisbury, Holmes was also scoring at more than a point per game, finishing with 16 goals and 15 assists in 30 games.

Prior to joining Salisbury in 2016, Holmes played for the Bruswick School. In 87 career prep games, Holmes has 26 goals and 44 assists.
