Northeast Conference Announces 2020 Spring Academic & Commissioner’s Honor Roll

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Northeast Conference (NEC) announced its 2020 Spring Academic and Commissioner’s Honor Roll on Thursday with record-breaking results, recognizing the academic achievements of its spring student-athletes.  

For Merrimack College, 169 Warriors representing the programs of softball, baseball, women’s track & field, men’s track & field, women’s tennis, men’s tennis, women’s golf, women’s lacrosse and men’s lacrosse garnered positions on the NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll. Of those 169, 49 Warriors landed on the Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll. For a full list of Merrimack’s represenatives on the two honor rolls, visit the links above.

To be eligible for the NEC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete that participates in a spring sport must own a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or better. Likewise, to be named to the NEC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have compiled a 3.75 GPA or higher. 

A conference-record 1,478 student-athletes landed on the Spring Academic Honor Roll while the Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll featured another record with 411 athletes represented. 

Nineteen of Merrimack’s 21 NEC programs finished the 2019-20 academic year with Team GPAs of at least a 3.0 including four teams with at least a 3.60 GPA: men’s tennis (3.648), women’s basketball (3.646), softball (3.613) and women’s soccer (3.602).
