Ryan O’Rourke Continues Rehab with Aberdeen

Ryan O’Rourke is continuing his rehab work after returning to pitching following Tommy John surgery last season. The 2010 Merrimack grad recently finished a stint with the Gulf Coast League Orioles and is now with Low-A Aberdeen.

According to CBS Sports, O’Rourke (who is signed to the Orioles on a minor league deal), will likely report to Triple-A Norfolk once he’s deemed 100 percent healthy. In his return, he’s thrown 8.2 innings between the Gulf Coast League and Low-A, posting a 2.08 ERA, striking out 13 batters and holding opponents to a .184 batting average (0.81 WHIP).

O’Rourke was injured last season while in Spring Training with the Minnesota Twins.
