Former Merrimack pitcher Ryan O’Rourke signed with the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney.

O’Rourke has spent his entire professional career in the Minnesota Twins organization. He missed all of last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, but will reportedly he ready for spring training. O’Rourke has been electric against left-handed batters in his career, holding batters to a .134 batting average. In total, O’Rourke has faced 80 left-handed batters in the Majors, and he’s struck out almost half of them (30).

O’Rourke was released by the Twins earlier this month. He was on pace to make the Twins bullpen out of spring training earlier this year before requiring surgery.
