NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Senior Nick Shumski of the Merrimack College baseball program was named to the All-Futures Collegiate Baseball League Second Team after a strong summer season for the FCBL’s Nashua Silver Knights.
Shumski was named to the all-league second team as a utility player, and was a starting infielder on a Nashua team that won the FCBL Championship. Merrimack teammates Thomas Crowley and Jake Thibault were also members of the championship-winning squad.
The Salem, N.H. native hit .258 over 34 regular season games for Nashua, totaling 41 hits in 120 plate appearances. Shumski added 20 runs scored, total 10 extra-base hits including three home runs while adding 22 RBI. He also swiped 12 bases and drew 16 walks to finish the year with a .374 on-base percentage.
