NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Northeaster Conference (NEC) unveiled its major award winners and all-conference teams for field hockey on Thursday evening, and the Merrimack College field hockey program was honored with a pair of selections. Junior Colleen Ellis and sophomore Juliane Ohmen both landed on the all-league second team.
Both players earned their second career all-conference selections: Ellis was a member of the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team in 2017 while Ohmen mirrored that feat on 2018. The duo are the first all-league selections of Merrimack’s Division I era.
Ellis finished the season as Merrimack’s leading scorer with both four goals and eight points. She played her best during NEC play as well, totaling three goals and six points in league action. She started in all 17 games for Merrimack in 2019, and increased her career scoring totals to 16 goals and 36 points.
Playing mostly in the midfield, Ohmen was a steady performer for the Warriors from start to finish in 2019. She totaled five points on two goals and one assist, also starting in all 17 games for Merrimack. Three of her five points came against NEC opponents while she added 11 total shots on the year.
