Bryant added to Merrimack’s home football schedule

Merrimack’s first season as a Division I FCS football program beginning to take shape. After previous games were announced at Central Connecticut, Rhode Island and Lehigh were announced, the Warriors now have two home games added to the 2019 slate.

Bryant, a former NE10 opponent, will visit Duane Stadium on Oct. 5 and the Warriors will bring in Division II Franklin Pierce (NE10) on Nov. 16. With football schedules put together years in advance, it’s expected that the Warriors will need to find Division II opponents to fill their schedule in the first few seasons until they can get on more Division I non-conference schedules moving forward.

Here’s what we know about the 2019 Merrimack football schedule:

Sept. 7 — @ Central Connecticut State (NEC)
Sept. 28 — @ Lehigh (Patriot League)
Oct. 5 — vs. Bryant (NEC)
Nov. 2 — @ Rhode Island (CAA)
Nov. 16 — vs. Franklin Pierce (NE10, DII)
