Marquis Spence Invited to College Gridiron Showcase

Merrimack senior wide receiver Marquis Spence has been invited to the 2019 College Gridiron Showcase, a senior All-Star event that will be held at McNair Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas on Jan. 8, 2020.

Spence has appeared in all eight games for the Warriors this season, hauling in 63 passes for 657 yards and 7 touchdowns. Spence has caught double-digit balls twice this season, including 12 catches for 118 yards and a touchdown in last week’s win over Presbyterian. Against Lehigh last month, Spence caught 16 passes for 175 yards.

Since 2015, 475 CGS participants have been offered pro opportunities. At the 2019 College Gridiron Showcase, scouts from 31 of the 32 NFL teams, all nine CFL teams, and other professional leagues were on hand to evaluate and meet with players. In total, participants had the opportunity to show their stuff to 150 professional scouts.

For 2020, CGS has been named as a featured event for NFL Regional Combine scouts.
