The Merrimack football team has offered 6-foot-5 receiver Jahee Blake; the player announced the offer on his social media on Monday.
Blake originally committed to Old Dominion last fall but reopened his recruitment last month. He has other Division I offers from Army, Navy, VMI, Fordham, Bryant and Delaware State. According to an interview with Virginia to Virginia Recruiting, Blake wants to find a school that plays a spread offense and has his preferred major, which is mechanical engineering.
“I would like to become a Nuclear Engineer,” Blake told the National Scouting Combine. “If things change and football does not work out, I still plan to focus on my career of becoming a Nuclear Engineer.”
He said that he will likely make his decision near signing day.
Blake played three seasons at Heritage and will be moving to Brookville High School in Lynchburg, Va. this season, which state officials said will likely begin in the spring. Blake also runs track, and has posted a 4.5 40-yard dash. His brother, Jabari Blake, is a quarterback at Delaware State.
