The Merrimack football program picked up a big commitment from offensive lineman Anthony Bonavita out of Iona Prep High School in New York.
Bonavita, a 6-foot-3, 305-pound guard, was named All-League, All-County, All-State and he
Bonavita announced his commitment through his Twitter account on Sunday.
“Thank you to all of the great programs and coaches who have recruited me throughout this process,” he wrote. “After deep thought and consideration, I have decided to continue my academic and athletic career at Merrimack College.”
Bonavita was a sought-after Division I FCS prospect, receiving offers from URI, Bryant and LIU Post. He also made official visits to Rutgers, Central Connecticut
