Jay O’Brien, who just completed his freshman season at Providence College, has entered the NCAA transfer portal according to NEHJ’s Jeff Cox and will play next season in the BCHL.

O’Brien, who was selected No. 19 overall in last summer’s NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, posted five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in 25 games this season. Two years ago at Thayer Academy, O’Brien had 80 points (43 goals, 37 assists) in 30 games.
