Hockey East Suspends Notre Dame’s Robbie Russo


Hockey East has suspended Notre Dame defenseman Robbie Russo for two games following a slashing penalty he was assessed at the 19:44 mark of the third period in last Saturday’s 4-2 Northeastern win over the Irish at Matthews Arena.

Russo is the top goal-scoring defenseman in the nation with 11 goals in 26 games. He’s fourth overall in point scoring with 25 points (11-14-25) in 26 games. He’ll miss this weekend’s two-game series against UNH in South Bend.
