2019 Defense/LSM Sam Walsh Commits to Merrimack


The Merrimack men’s lacrosse program received a verbal commitment from Sam Walsh on Thursday. Walsh is a 6-foot-4 defenseman/long-stick midfielder who has played for the 1223 Chicago club team as well as York High School (Illinois). Walsh is regarded as one of the best long-sticks in the state.

Watching his highlight video (see below), it seems pretty evident that Walsh knows how to use his size to his advantage. There are some clips in the video below where he absolutely steamrolls his man en route to a forcing a turnover. As you’ll see in the video below, in many of those plays he was going up against Division I committed players.
