The Merrimack men’s lacrosse program will travel to Yale on March 31, 2020, in what will be one of the most intriguing matchups in the Northeast this spring.

The Warriors are coming off back-to-back Division II national championships and are embarking on their first season as a Division I program as part of the Northeast Conference. Yale has made appearances in the last two Division I national championship games, winning the national title in 2018 and falling to Virginia in the championship game this past May.

The Warriors traveled to Yale for an exhibition game in 2018, the season in which they won their first national championship.

The game will be played at Yale’s Reese Stadium, which doubles as the university’s soccer stadium and seats 1,250 fans. The stadium underwent significant renovations in 2011.

Reese Stadium has hosted international soccer teams on many occasions as well. In 1991 the U.S. national team used Reese Stadium as a practice facility before it played Juventus at the Yale Bowl. Brazil practiced at Reese Stadium in 1993 prior to the U.S. Cup. In 1995 Reese Stadium was the soccer venue for the Special Olympics.
