Kenny Clarke Earns Fifth-Straight Rookie of the Week Honor

After yet another noteworthy performance over the weekend at the BU Valentine’s Invitational, freshman Kenny Clarke (Oakland, N.J.) of the Merrimack College men’s track & field team has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Field Rookie of the Week.

Clarke has earned the NE-10’s top field rookie performer award for an incredible fifth week in a row. He has also earned three ECAC weekly track & field awards so far this season, and should be a lock for a fourth honor when it is announced later today.

The Oakland, New Jersey, native continued his stellar freshman campaign by posting a distance of 1.90m in the high jump on Saturday at BU. He was competing against some elite Division I competition and still managed one of the day’s top performances in the event. That mark is tied for seventh-best in the league, as well.

The Warriors will travel to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston next week for the Northeast-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon.
