Classen Re-Signs with Rostock as Player and Coach

Former Merrimack College forward Greg Classen has re-signed with the Rostock Piranhas of the German 3rd Division for the upcoming 2018-19 season, the team announced on its website on Tuesday.

Classen, who will turn 41 on Friday, will also serve as the team’s assistant coach under head coach Wolfgang Wünsche.

Last season Classen appeared in 30 games for the Piranhas, scoring 10 goals and adding 18 assists, and he has played in Germany since 2010, when he joined Kölner Haie of the DEL.

Classen played two seasons at Merrimack before signing with the Nashville Predators in 2000.
