Defenseman Michael Brown Commits to Merrimack


The Merrimack men’s hockey program received a commitment from ’01-born defenseman Michael Brown on Friday.

Brown has played the last two seasons for Belmont Hill (prep), scoring four goals and adding seven assists in 30 games last season. Brown also recently competed at USA Hockey’s Select 17 Festival camp, and last year Brown skated in the Select 16 camp.

This past May, Brown was selected in the 13th round of the USHL Entry Draft by the Youngstown Phantoms.

Brown, 17, is currently about 6-foot-2 and several scouts and coaches have raved about his physical ability in the defensive zone.
