Former Merrimack winger Ethan DeStefani will reportedly be heading to Salve Regina, where he’ll finish his last three seasons of eligibility. DeStefani isn’t listed on the team’s online roster, but NewportRI.com reported this week that he is transferring to the school.
DeStefani, 21, is from Bedford, N.H. He began his NCAA career at Merrimack in 2018 but left the program at the semester break after appearing in only four games during the first semester, and returned to the USHL. In the second half of that season, he played 14 games for the Youngstown Phantoms and then finishing the season with the Islanders Hockey Club in the NCDC.
Last season, DeStefani appeared in 50 games for the Northeast Generals (NAHL), scoring 14 goals and adding 22 assists.
