Evan McIntyre, a ’00 defenseman from Ontario, de-committed from Merrimack College and announced on Twitter that he had committed to Ohio State.

McIntyre committed to Merrimack last season, not long after Scott Borek took the job as head coach. He appeared in 23 games for Cedar Rapids (USHL) last season, recording seven points (2g-5a) before leaving the team and joining the Penticton Vees in the BCHL. With Penticton, McIntyre had seven points (3g-4a) in 18 games; he’s playing for Penticton again this season.

At the time of his commitment (May 2018), Merrimack had beaten out at least two Hockey East schools for McIntyre, per sources.
