Felix Carenfelt commits to Merrimack

Felix Carenfelt, a 2000-born forward from Sweden, has committed to Merrimack for this upcoming season (2019).

Carenfelt is one of the top 2000-born scorers in Sweden’s top junior league, the SuperElit. In 39 games this season for Djurgårdens IF J20, Carenfelt has 17 goals and 21 assists (38 points).

In a story posted earlier this season, EP Rinkside noted that Carenfelt could get some attention for this year’s NHL Draft.

“(Carenfelt) is a player that has taken big steps in his development this year and could see some interest in the upcoming draft,” they wrote. “Carenfelt (and teammate Alexander Holtz) are excellent goal scorers with above-average playmaking skills that likes to take initiative in the offensive zone, and together they are one of the reasons why Djurgården was the top team in the northern division.”

Carenfelt has been added to our new Merrimack Recruiting Chart.
