Hugo Esselin commits to Merrimack for 2019


Hugo Esselin, a 2000-born forward from Stockholm, Sweden, has committed to Merrimack for 2019.

Esselin was teammates this past season with¬†Felix Carenfelt, who committed to Merrimack last month; towards the end of the season, Esselin was the center on Carenfelt’s line.

In 40 games this season with Djurg√•rdens IF J20 (SuperElit), Esselin had 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists). Esselin was an 18-year-old this season (he’ll turn 19 in July) playing in an Under-20 division. As a 17-year-old last year in an Under-18 division, Esselin had 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists) in 32 games.
