Linked: Doneghey Named as Possible Bruins Scouting Candidate

Former Merrimack College associate head coach Mike Doneghey was named by The Boston Globe‘s Fluto Shinzawa as a possible choice for the Boston Bruins scouting department, which has undergone several changes this summer.

Doneghey, who is also a former Merrimack goaltender, was on Chris Serino‘s coaching staff from 1999-05 and served as interim head coach while Serino was being treated for throat cancer in 2001. He left Merrimack prior to the 2005-06 season to run the Bridgewater Bandits organization and has been a scout for the Blackhawks since 2010, where he works alongside former Merrimack head coach Ron Anderson.

Former Boston University associate head coach, Steve Greely, is also listed as a potential candidate for the Bruins. Greely works under Gordie Clark, whose son Brendon is a former Merrimack center (2001-05) and played for Doneghey; Brendon is also a scout for the Rangers.
