Men’s Hockey’s Jefferies Named to Pro Ambitions Hockey East All-Rookie Team

LEAGUE RELEASE

WAKEFIELD, Mass.

– After a sensational freshman campaign, Merrimack College men’s hockey forward Alex Jefferies has been named to the 2020-21 Pro Ambitions All-Rookie team, as announced by the league Thursday.

The Lunenburg, Mass. native was an elite offensive threat in his first season in North Andover. He immediately garnered league Rookie of the Week honors after he tallied three points in his first two collegiate games against nationally ranked Massachusetts. He kept his scoring touch alive all season long, as he finished with 10 points on four goals and six assists in just 12 games.

For a long stretch during the regular season, he led the nation in shots on goal per game among rookies and had at least a point in five of his final six games. He also tallied one point or more in eight of the 12 contests that he appeared in.

The 2020 New York Islander draft pick also netted two power play goals and was disciplined, as he finished his first year with the Warriors with just two penalty minutes.
