NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College men’s ice hockey team will begin its weekend series with UConn Huskies on Friday night, hosting UConn for a 7 p.m. game at Lawler Rink. The series resumes on Sunday when the Hockey East opponents will play at the XL Center located in Hartford, Conn. This game will begin at 2:05 p.m.

Due to enhanced security regulations in place on campus, fans are encouraged to arrive to Lawler Rink EARLY on game days.  
Please note the following parking restrictions for all games: 

  • Lot F (MAC) is a reserved parking area
  • Lot G (Deegan/Fenton Road) is reserved for GAME DAY STAFF ONLY. 
  • Fans are encouraged to park in Lot H (Sakowich) or Lot M (Athletics District)!

Five Things To Know

  • The Warriors and Huskies reunite as the Warriors will look to resume their winning ways against the Huskies, with the head-to-head series sitting at 26-5-5 in favor of Merrimack. The Warriors have won the last three of four meetings between the schools.
  • Freshman Jere Huhtamaa is coming off of his best performance of the year, playing 60-plus minutes last Friday against the University of New Hampshire, totaling a career-best 20 saves. Huhtamaa and classmate Troy Kobryn have split starting duties through six games for the Warriors
  • Freshmen defensemen Declan Carlile and Zach Uens have led the way on the blue line for Merrimack in the early going, placing first and T-second on the team in total points, with five and four points, respectively. In the Warriors’ most recent game, both players scored, while Carlile assisted on Uens’ goal.
  • This will be the first conference game for the Huskies this season after posting a 1-2-1 record through their first 4 games, most recently defeating RPI, 5-2
  • The Huskies have done a good job spreading the points around this season with five players being tied for the team lead in points with three, while seven other players havetwo points so far this season
