Merrimack men’s and women’s hockey combine for 13 AHCA All-American Scholar selections

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College men’s and women’s ice hockey programs were well-represented on the 2018-19 American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) Krampade All-American Scholars list with 13 total Warriors named honorees on Tuesday.

Recognizing student-athletes who achieved a 3.6 or better grade point average (GPA) in each semester and played in 40 percent or more of his/her team’s games, the men’s hockey squad boasted eight All-American Scholars recipients – tied for the second most across all of Hockey East – while the women’s side garnered five representatives.

They join a list of 497 total student-athletes across NCAA Division I men’s and women’s ice hockey schools.

Earlier this month, both teams enjoyed similar recognition on the Hockey East All-Academic Teams. On the men’s side, Merrimack ranked second across all of Hockey East with  23 all-academic selections. The Warriors enjoyed a similar among of accolades on the women’s side, with 19 Warriors earning all-academic honors.
