Merrimack Ranked 18th in National Poll

Merrimack College was ranked 18th in Monday’s Division 1 poll — the top-20 USCHO poll is one of two nationally recognized polls in the country, along with the top-15 USA Today poll.

It’s the first time the Warriors have ever been ranked in the Division 1 national polls.

The Warriors sat seven points ahead of Western Michigan for the 18th ranking and also were ranked ahead of Ferris State.

Merrimack’s two opponents this weekend – Boston College (Friday, 4 p.m. at Lawler Arena) and New Hampshire (Saturday, 7 p.m. Whittemore Center) – are ranked 6th and 7th respectively.

The Warriors had received votes in every weekly USCHO poll since the season began. Twice, including last week, they were the top-ranked team in the “others receiving votes” category.
