Merrimack recruit Alex Jefferies named All-USA

Merrimack recruit Alex Jefferies has been named All-USA by USA Today after finishing as one of the top-scoring forwards in prep hockey this past season.

Jefferies had 57 points (27 goals, 30 assists) in 31 games for Gunnery this past season and then appeared in a pair of games for the Dubuque Fighting Saints at the end of the season. Jefferies has been a top scorer at every level he’s played, scoring 53 points in 25 games (33 goals, 20 assists) for the Islanders Hockey Club 16U team last season.

Playing 16U and prep hockey the past two seasons, Jefferies has 110 points (60 goals, 50 assists) in just 56 games.
