Pregame: Lineup and Links as Merrimack Hosts Vermont

NORTH ANDOVER — The Merrimack men’s hockey team kicks off a weekend series with the Vermont Catamounts tonight at Lawler Arena. The Warriors enter the weekend series 5-16-2 while the Catamounts are 3-15-1 on the season.

Troy Kobyrn will start in goal for the Warriors. Kobryn relieved Jere Huhtamaa last Saturday night at UMass Lowell and nearly backstopped the Warriors to a comeback, as they cut a 6-1 deficit to 6-4 before the final horn.

Kobryn (3.17/.890) is expected to be opposed by Stefanos Lekkas (2.80/.914), who has played all but 63 minutes for the Catamounts this season.

Vermont has won the last four games in the series, with Merrimack’s last victory coming nearly three years ago, on Feb. 25, 2017 at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Merrimack’s last win over Vermont at Lawler Arena was on Feb. 26, 2016.
