NORTH ANDOVER — Merrimack will No. 8 host Boston University today at Lawler Rink (4 p.m.), and the Warriors will welcome back freshman forward Alex Jefferies, who leads the team in points per game and hasn’t played since suffering an injury at UConn on Jan. 30.
Jefferies will enter the Merrimack lineup today along with freshman Jakob Lee and Conor Lovett, who both missed yesterday’s game against BU after a freshman dorm at Merrimack was forced to quarantine most of this past week, forcing the players to miss practice time. Zach Borgiel, who did not dress yesterday, is expected to start for the Warriors opposite Drew Commesso for BU. One notable lineup change for the Terriers is forward Jake Wise getting back into the lineup. The Chicago Black Hawks third-round pick hasn’t played in more than a month.
The Warriors are looking for the series sweep after winning last night at Walter Brown Arena, 5-2. Merrimack has not swept the Terriers since the 2016-2017 season. The teams are split (3-3) in the last six meetings dating back to 2018.
Terrence Murphy and Marty Hughes will officiate today’s game with Kevin Briganti and Kyle Richetelle working the lines.
